Old Sacramento Living History Program
The Old Sacramento Living History Program is a volunteer organization whose goal is to educate, while entertaining,
the public on the streets of Old Sacramento. This program insures that Sacramento’s rich heritage is kept alive through
the historical recreation of the individuals, events, and activities of Sacramento’s rich history during the time period
1848 to 1870 with a heavy emphasis on the Gold Rush Era and the years 1848 to 1858.
Our mission is to create an interactive, working street museum with historically costumed characters educated in the history of early Sacramento.
